My husband and I both got the Taste of Woodys Platter to try it all. My husband smokes meats and loves BBQ. And here's our rundown: Chicken... Decent Turkey... Dry, tasteless, not smoked Brisket... Dry, fatty, not cooked long enough Pork... Dry, not cooked enough, tasteless Ribs... Dry... And I don't mean because they're dry rubbed. BBQ sauce... It's like Kraft with a Woodys label. Mac & Cheese...can they even call it that? Mac and "cheese flavored sauce" is more appropriate. If I wanted Velveeta, I'd go to the grocery store. Hey, the garlic Texas Toast that came with it all was on point.

Good takeout option in Ponte Vedra. Order is ready quickly and without hiccups. I was craving a particular BBQ salad from another local joint, but they had already closed for the evening, so we turned our sights on Woody's and they were able to hook us up. I went with the Southwestern Salad with grilled chicken. The mix of ingredients - corn, beans, tomatoes, cheese, olives, tomatoes, etc - all worked well together. And the spicy ranch option offered a nice option. I prefer my chicken - when served in a salad - to be cut in chunks rather than strips, but I didn't ask or specify that in my order; que sera. I was disappointed when they were out of corn nuggets as I was craving some of those too, but o-rings aren't a bad substitute. Will have to keep these guys in mind for an easy dinner option.

I had the bbq brisket sandwich.. And it was pretty good. Good smoke flavor, good bun, plenty of meat. Service was good, and I think the prices are fair for what you get. I had the beans and a law as my sides.. Both were very good.

Got take out. Overall food was very disappointing. Ribs were really dry and had very little meat. Mac and cheese was ok, as were the greens.

Best Woody's in town! Fresh pulled meats and love the sauces! Good service and love Trivia nights on Thursdays!

I stopped off at my grandfather's house to check in and he asked me to take him to Woody's. I'm from the South so I could always go for some BBQ so I said why not?! I had never been to Woody's before, or tried their Carolina Sauces. I'm glad I stopped in though. Their pulled pork sandwhich and baked potatoe were just what I needed. I could barely finish the sandwhich, because they packed it up "real good." The service was nothing special, she took our order, brought us drinks and left us alone. Not always a bad thing, especially when you have food dripping down your face! If I ever get the urge for BBQ, I will most likely be back at Woody's. PS: Try the Sweet Carolina sause. MMMMhmmmmm!

Went to this place and sat down for take out with a friend.... a man was sitting next to me at the ordering bar top and there were 4 other people in the dining room. The place was empty. The man next to me had obviously been over-served because he spilled his beer all over the bar top and on me.... on his way out he even bumped my friend and myself on the head with his take out order..... I could easily get over all that but what I could not get over was that the two people working behind the counter never even greeted us so after 15 minutes we told the women that we would like to order and she said "I am sorry I cannot help you I have 2 cars in the drive thru so you will have to wait". We had been in the Ponte Vedra Beach neighborhood for only 6 days and I must say this was the worst service we ever had anywhere and not just in PVB. Everyone else in the neighborhood and outside of the neighborhood restaurant were so nice. Even the people at public were nicer than her. So we walked out. What a waste of time !!!!!! Reluctantly I had the urge to eat some pulled pork so I went back a week later and ordered a sandwich. The quality was very low and the meat was dry along with the service from the same worker !!!!! NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE. I am sure other businesses would appreciate my money more.

Went here for lunch about 130 pm ... did not have to wait long. The girls working were all really nice. But the sliced pork sandwich I ordered, was under cooked. Diffenetly should have been left on for at least another 45 minutes. So needless to say I didnt eat my sandwich. And due to being on lunch didnt have time to send it back. The curled up duct tape on the bench cushion should have been my first clue. Cause i had to carefully slide over it so i didnt get the adhesive on my dress slacks. Funkie smell in the ladies room that could use an air freshener.

Good Food and Great Service, not the best BBQ I have ever had, but it was still pretty damned good.

Very disappointed. Ordered the full slab baby back ribs. Food was room temperature at best. Baked potato was soggy, Lima beans way over cooked and heavily seasoned with pork. Service was poor even though they were not busy. I finally got my own flatware She didn't refill our drinks. Overall very disappointed

My husband and I love this location. Everything on the menu is excellent and the service is great. They make you feel like you're family. I really enjoy the chicken wings. We watch football here regularly. There are games too and pool. This is a great family restaurant and also a good spot for having a cold beer and chats with their great staff. The owner is a really nice guy and you can't go wrong with any item. Oh! The potachos are also super yum!

restaurant environment: nice venue and a good location. staff: everyone is very friendly and attentive. food: decent, not as good a mojo kitchen in jax beach, but it's not bad, defintely better than Sonny's or Bono's. Good variety. value: Decent portion size for the price. would I return? not my first choice of bbq at the beaches, but i wouldn't object to returning.

Long time residents of the area have seen this building occupied by many purveyor of bbq. Ponte Vedra's current tenant is Woody's bbq. According to their webite Woody's is about: "Whether you're sitting down to a rack of our meat-fallin'-off-the-bone Signature Baby Back Ribs, or settlin' in to tackle a slab of our special-recipe spare ribs, you'll find that Woody's couldn't be any further from the big-chain restaurants. Every Woody's is special with its own hometown atmosphere and every Woody's serves up only the best. We use the finest cuts of pork and beef and the freshest vegetables. And everything we serve is a Woody's original, from our secret-recipe Bar-B-Q sauces and freshly-prepared side dishes right down to our famous, moist and tender, slow-smoked Bar-B-Q dinners." I find this to be exactly the kind of blanket statement a big chain restaurant would use. Upon visiting the Woody's site you will notice that it is in fact a chain restaurant that exists primarily in Florida as well as some other southern states(TN, NC). While it's true that the interior is decorated from different regional/neighborhood signs and flyers, it gives off an almost cheesy vibe. Reminds me of the restaurant that Jennifer Anniston works at in Office Space.(minus the 7 pieces of flair). As far as "using the finest cuts..." go I think its important to take into consideration two things. One, if the meat is drowning in sauce you're really not going to be able to task the quality in itself. Two, veggies pretty much lose their freshness the second they go in the deep fryer. I appreciate fresh veggies as much as the next person but I'm pretty sure its not going to be what I'm worried about when I order fried okra. Onto the food itself. One good thing about eating at Woody's is that it is relatively inexpensive. I think my total tab for one pulled chicken sandwich, one pulled pork sandwich, a fried okra app, and two sweet tea's was about $25 dollars before tip. The fried okra was pretty much spot on. It was nice to have a couple different types of bbq sauce on the table to dip it in. The portion was pretty big too, so much so that I didn't finish it on top of the sandwich. My pulled chicken sandwich was just alright. It was very very sloppy. Served on your typical hamburger bun, I had difficulty keeping it all on the bread. The flavors were pretty typical and I ate the whole thing, I was left wanting a little bit more. Overall it was a decent experience. I took my gf there wanting to give her an authentic southern bbq exposure and I feel like she got that. While there are certainly better places out there, I think it's important to consider that there are also worse places(see my review of Georgia's bbq in nyc). You get what you pay for, middle tier bbq food.
